1986TD 171 83,516 miles - BMW 2.4 six cylinder turbo diesel - 5-speed manual overdrive transaxle. Modified transmission with low 1st and 2nd gears - Suspension upgrade - Brake vacuum boost upgrade all carried out with a new clutch and more in Sept 2001 at 64,000 miles, at cost of $4914.
Four owners from new with 90% of its life in Southern California, currently registered at Dana Point CA until Oct 2010. In very good original and unmolested condition with a full re-spray in Red Metallic August 2002.
Full and comprehensive vehicle and service history including a record of all gas fill ups / mileage's from 9/17/87 at 1,100 miles to date at 83,516 miles and oil change records from 10/6/87 at 2700 miles to date.
Full service record with bills including two cam belt replacements and all upgrades plus the original bill of sale. Also has full workshop manuals in hard copy and on CD along with sales information and a large file of old Fox Prints ( see Vixen Owners Club http://www.vixenrv.org/viki/tiki-index.php?page=HomePage) and technical emailed info from other expert owners.
Must be one of the best kept and recorded Vixens of all time. Recent work to include air conditioning service and new lower ball joints on the front suspension with tracking alignment. Oil and filter changes with all new belts.
Starts on the button, drives, shifts, rides and stops just fine, never had any overheating issues and gets good gas mileage. Tires, suspension, brakes, electrics, air conditioning all in working order. Good working roof that raises a bit slowly but is fine. One small crack in an end Perspex window. Interior in great condition and very original. Cooker, microwave, fridge, toilet, shower, sink and pluming all work fine. Had new headliner August 1999 and all other cloth materials are good. Original roller cupboard doors have seen better days and are in need of restoration but this is par for the course as the design was never great. Current unresolved problem is the auxiliary Webasto Heater which turns on but does not fire up. This is used when stationary without the motor running to provide interior heating and hot water. Two options for this fix are to re-build / service the existing unit or replace it with the modern day equivalent which is the Webasto TLS 17 http://www.webasto.us/press/en/am_trucks_heaters_823.htmlwhich is available from truck and boat dealers or at better value on Ebay.
Sadly due to medical and associated financial issues we have not seen the use out of our Vixen that we envisaged and feel we should pass this extraordinary RV on to new owners who will use and appreciate it for what it is, an amazingly timeless and wonderfully designed vehicle.

1989SE 520 1989 Vixen RV 21 SE VIN 520. Inherited and drove it from Oregon to Georgia where it sits and doesn't get used. Fair condition, don't know much about these vehicles. Comfortable, maneuvers and drives like a dream. Air, PS, PB, gets 20 miles to the gallon.
